Nurses Now International, a company backed by Louisville-based Blue Equity LLC, has earned accreditation from the Alliance for Ethical International Recruitment Practices, according to a news release.

Nurses Now International is a Mexico-based nursing and human resources firm that trains nurses in English medical terminology and American culture. Nurses work on a temporary basis in U.S. hospitals while training and later return to Mexico to work in long-term staffing arrangements, as Business First previously reported.

Nurses Now is the only firm in Mexico and the third company in the world to receive the accreditation. By receiving “certified subscriber” status, Nurses Now International commits to the principles set out in the “Voluntary Code of Ethical Conduct for the Recruitment of Foreign-Educated Health Professionals to the United States,” the release said.

According to the release, 75 percent of nurses with the lowest level of English proficiency pass a language test in one year, and 100 percent pass within two years.

Nurses Now International, which was founded in 2007, also offers a medical tourism training program.
